Wayland Depot in 2015
Wayland, Massachusetts - This depot is located on the abandoned Central Massachusetts Branch of the Boston and Maine Railroad. The rail is still in place here but no trains have run in about 30 years. We are looking toward Boston. Down the track, the former Wayland freight house is visible painted in traditional BM maroon and cream paint. The platform is in place but has grass growing on it. The depot is occupied by a non-profit group selling local hand crafts. In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful preserved country depots in New England. The depot was built in 1881.
