Bradford Depot Before the Fire
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA . . . .Bradford Depot has not been used rail passengers in some time. It was built in the 1870's as part of a curve relocation project. It was sold by the railroad in the 1960's. It became a Laundromat. For a time the laundromat sold rail tickets but did not provide a waiting room. In the summer of 2014 the interior was damaged by fire. The fire was serious enough that firefighters had to chop a hole in the roof to vent the smoke. The roof has since been repaired but the building has not re-opened. For a while the owner had a "for sale" sign and then a "for lease" sign. Now he rents parking spaces to commuters at a rate less than what the MBTA charges in their adjacent parking lot. At one time the building had a cupola but I never remember seeing that.
